Silverstone 'Arena' BMW Trackday - Sept 13th

Post by Nick Wright »

BMW Car Club On Track

Silverstone Arena GP Circuit

13th September 2011

Exclusive booking
Open Pit Lane
Capped entry – I’m keeping this one down to around 100 cars.
Noisy (105db)
Very reasonable.. £249 members, £299 guests
Free ARDS instruction - I will have 4 instructors working for us at no charge to you!
Trophies and Raffle Prizes
Friendly club atmosphere
Everyone welcome.

Run to my usual high BMWCC standards

..this one is the Daddy of all Club trackdays - out on the Arena GP circuit with the new twisty infield bit to keep you amused.

We will have full use of the brand new pitlane and be using the same garages as the F1 teams.

BMW UK have hired a garage again and will be there with 6 of the latest products including that awesome orange M3 GTS press car

ACSchnitzer are again bringing R & D driver Manni Woltgarten to give you some 'flying' passenger laps in one of their latest vehicles.

Got loads of suppliers coming to set up in the Trade Village (another pit lane garage really!) to showcase their products.

..and remember, you don't need to be taking part on track to attend this day - admission is free of charge.

.. without doubt the biggest BMW trackday globally!

I'm waiting for your call..

Is it possible to just come and watch and have pit lane access?

Yes it is - bring a helmet if you have one and buy some passenger laps

I did this last year, it's a good day out. It will cost you £25 for a passenger pass but that lets you go in any car thats willing to take you, there are usually quite a few people offering passenger laps so potentially you could spend most of the day going round the circuit. Like Nick said try and bring a helmet otherwise you need to find somebody with a spare, and that is not always easy. Last year I didn't know the procedure as it was my first time at a track day and didn't take a lid but I managed to borrow a one so that I could go round in the AC Schnitzer Z4 for a couple of laps, well worth it. :D

BMW UK have just told me that Andy Priaulx is otherwise engaged and can't make this one.

So it is more than likely that our BMW brand ambassador for the day will be Steve Soper, which is nice as we have 3 of his ex touring cars taking part on the day including his '93 season Fina liveried works E30 M3 which duelled to end with championship winner Joe Winkelhock in the sister car.

.. like I have said before, not your average trackday!

.. and raffle - don't forget the £1 for your raffle ticket,

..normally the star prize is a free trackday entry.. this year I think I may push the boat out and make the star prize a free entry to ALL our trackdays during 2012 (worth nearly £1k)

We only sell the tickets on the day and pull out the winners in the afternoon - you need to be there to win.

Looking forward to this one Nick. We are staying over on the Monday night again.

Soper was a loon and I'm sure he still is. Best touring car racing in his heyday for me!
