Hi all. When an air bag fires I understand the cover flips out of the way to allow the bag to expand. I know from previous threads that the cover over the passenger air bag can be prised up manually so it hinges backward. Can the same be done with the steering wheel bag?
David.
An unusual air bag question.

Hoping no one would ask that as didn`t want to admit to doing a stupid thing. Have replaced all my badges with carbon fibre. Instead of just sticking a cover over the steering wheel badge I thought I would try to remove it. It attaches by three prongs which bend over behind the back of the cover [a clue here ] It can`t easily be removed. I ruined it trying and now need to get behind the cover to finish the job.

I had to remove mine because the badge was dented and loose with one of the tabs broken.
I managed to very carefuly fish the remains of the tab out and remove the rest of the badge which is probably where you are at now.
I stuck the new badge on with a large blob of silicone and kept it taped down for about a week to set.
Its been fine ever since.
Thread here but sorry pics are missing.

well, just a couple then..
Sadly it's gone to a new owner now, the salt and grit used on the roads in these parts do no favours to Ash and Aluminium bodywork.
Lots of nice ones here.
