Did you know........A manufacturing company in Germany whose products are boxed under the name MEYLE...also manufacture the same parts for BMW. eg. a set of 2 belts for the Z3 from BMW are are around £110.00 over here...The same product as supplied to BMW from Meyle goes for around £20.00 The OEM rear front wishbone bushes go for £.18 a pair from Meyle etc etc..They don't keep all BMW spare parts, and seem to specialise in supplying BMW with things like bearings, bushes, seals, belts and a few other mechanical parts. If you buy from them, you have to quote your VIN # and the part number. So, essentiallly you can source OEM parts at a fraction of the cost.

I boy my belts direct from an OEM too.

Helps having worked in the automotive supply chain sector, when you really find out who does what, rather than what the badges/labels would have you believe!

It's amazing how many suppliers don't make things!

Just because they make it, doesn't mean they will be the cheapest. I bought a Valeo speedo for a Hydrema from JCB because they would supply one (min order qty from Valeo was five).

I called Incomex, the local retailer for Meyle products, and have decided to go with the OEM rear wishbone bushe replacements. They are only £16.00 for the pair including 14% VAT... a 10 mile drive.. :D and since the autumn / winter here in the south has reduced the temp to a "cool" 24.C, :D :D :D I think the roof down is a good idea!!!!!
