Just a simple 1.9 - only had it a year but love it!!!

Driving to south France via Grenoble. Few days down there before heading up to Milan via monte Carlo. Few days in lake como, then up to Switzerland via grimsel pass then through Switzerland to Rheims before heading up to Calais.
11 days all in and route not finalised yet so any suggestions appreciated.

Sounds fantastic, I wish I wish doing it again this year, but the wife wants a "proper" holiday.

You should take the route Napoleon from Grenoble to Cannes it's a great route.

From Cannes to Menton on the Italian border is another interesting route and Menton is a great place to stay (not so expensive)

Enjoy

Looks like a great tour. The Zed will love it!
We've done most of those places, but not in one trip.

If you can venture a little further west whilst in southern France, try to spend a little time around Millau. The bridge is absolutely stunning, and the back roads and scenery round there are cracking. You have to take a trip over the bridge just to say you've done it, but it's best enjoyed from below....

Whilst in Reims, get along to the old racing circuit grandstands and pits. They have recently been refurbushed and repainted, and the feel of the place is quite exciting and great for photo opportunities.

And of course, you must visit one of the Champagne houses which are centred in and around Epernay. In town, Castellaine has a good tour and the bubbly is really nice, but there are a myriad small houses dotted around which are equally as fascinating. One small one we visited was called Tarlant which produces a particularly nice brew.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip and I'm looking forward to seeing the photos.

Cheers!
A.

To experience the champagne lifestyle, try http://champagnepiersonwhitaker.com/, a very welcoming B&B in a champagne house, with encouragement to visit the cellars, where it's much easier to understand the full process than in the major players in Epernay. The owners, French husband, English wife, are also keen motorcyclists. Just don't expect to find any atmospheric cafes in Avize village; the locals are all too busy making champagne and money!

If you get a chance check out the Gorges du Verdon. Some fantastic roads around there.

I am currently trying to decide between route napoleons which would probably include gorges du verdon or down to Millau and going across and under the amazing bridge. I probably won't have time to do both, if I do Millau I can then do a drive along south coast to Menton or Monte Carlo.

Thoughts people???
