Diary empty.

Post by Phil »

Err does anyone fancy arranging something? There is nothing in the diary.

There was a time when there would be a dozen things going on all over the place.
Now - nothing.

Come on guys - what would you like to do etc..

As an example this coming Sunday there are 34 Alpinas visiting a dealer with specialist talks/lunch/an afternoon drive followed by a meal.

Any Z events in the pipeline? - Doesnt look like it.
Sapphire black/Imola red and black interior/ red roof/ S54 - the only RHD one made.

This sounds like a 'Them and Us' scenario, I'm saddened that some members don't feel comfortable to post events/meets on zroadster.net

If members past and present wish to raise any points of concern then please do so via PM with me in confidence.

Agree with Gazza - why are you not posting the events here?

I'm off on the Alpina meet tomorrow in the 'other' car. Cant wait to see 30-40 Alpinas all lined up together. There will be some Alpina Z4s as well.

Woah!....

I was merely stating to Phil there are meets avalible to join for 'anyone' on another site..
I was in no way insinuating an 'us and them' scenario?? :?: That's ridiculous..

The meets arnt arranged by me... Im just pointing Phil in the right direction for avalible meets..
Not everyone on the other site are on .net and vice versa..

Woah Liam, no one mentioned names.

I said "This sounds like a 'Them and Us' scenario, I'm saddened that some members don't feel comfortable to post events/meets on zroadster.net" that is in no way pointed at you or anyone else for that matter, just my observation that general meets aren't mentioned here, which is a shame.

No one is suggesting that the meets are arranged by you and I don't think Phil mean't 'You' as personal. Thanks for pointing Phil and others in the direction of available meets.

I am a member of several car fora and would advise others of meets available to a particular Marque, I can't understand why that isn't happening in the Zed fratenity.

Mark, it isn't a 'them and us' situation which is my point. If someone is a member of .Org and .Net then why aren't the meets advertised on both ?

No doubt .org has members that aren't on .net, if they were to arrange a meet then it would be great if someone gave a nod to members on .net and vice versa, afterall it's the Zed that has all of us interested in the first place.

My offer stands, if anyone has concerns regarding .net then please send me a pm.

No problem Gary, I agree the meets should be posted on both.. Hence my original post informing Phil. I'm a frequent member on here and .org. I have no problems with either.. never have

Any meets arranged by myself in the future will be posted on both forums but I can't tell others to do so, it's upto them..

I'm not an 'org' member, but had a quick look because of this post. I noticed that the 'East Anglian Crew' events are only appearing on the org site. Again, it's not meant as a criticism . Mike and Sandy have done a great job in trying to bring together people in our area in particular. But it would be nice to know if it's a dicision that has been made for some reason or just an assumption that everyone will look at both sites.

One thing I have noticed there are quite a few past events listed in the check your diary section which can sometimes make it difficult to spot new events; especially if you don't check very regularly.

I have seen this across some of the other forums too.

I did a bit of a tidy up on the front page so that the list wasn't quite so long, but I think a few of them can "fall off the bottom" now. We normally move things from diary to aftermaths when they are done. Will see if we can have a bit of a tidy up.

I'm afraid I have been doing quite a few Autstin-Healey events of late - so it is a bit difficult to say bring your zeds along - I'll happily post up details if anyone is interested in coming along as just a visitor. In the last few weeks I have been to Tatton, Oulton Park and CarfFest North!

Might we consider a few pub meets for the winters evenings and maybe a few "fix it" days? I've just taken delivery of a code reader cable, so I will happily do diagnostics for people once I have figured it out myself.

Cheers R.

Thanks, John for your kind words. We do actually float between the forums, gleening whatever we find interesting.
Aswell as ourselves, perhaps in retrospect, we should have encouraged others who posted the following meets to include them on other forums, but we did try to PM those that we believed would be interested, having enjoyed the North Norfolk Cruise together. :drive

Everyone is welcome from whichever site, to come and join the East Anglian Crew and from the fun we had on that day, with folks that we had never met before, we found that it led to a complete lifestyle change for us, looking forward more and more to the next meet. :thumb:

We know that life can be quite hectic and busy nowadays, but it seems that it's very hard to motivate people to mix with others, to come out to enjoy themselves and if you talk to the rest of EACrew, they will tell you, "it's one of the best things they have ever done" :D We have been lucky enough to have come to know some lovely people through our interest in Zeds, some of which have become close friends 8-)

Sorry for opening a can of worms - that wasnt my intention.
I am a member of .org anyway and do check out the events that wasnt the issue.
Since we got the Alpina we have been doing regular meets even though there are so few of them. I just wondered why there are so few, if any, events on zroadster.net.
Today there were, I believe, 39 Alpinas at an event hosted by Sytner, Nottingham. They laid on refreshments, a quiz, a talk and then some of us went out for a pretty hairy drive. All that followed by dinner. Fantastic.
Its quite a while since there was anything similar organised by us on this forum.
The purpose of my post was to say come on someone arrange something.

Why did this not get put into 'Check your Diary' as a thread ?

I read the majority of threads here and this slipped by me, no doubt it slipped by many others too :(

Sorry Gazza, have just spotted this post, I don't think that was a reason other than it possibly also slipped the organiser's mind aswell.
Will try to make sure that others do so! :) After all we managed to unit all the forums for Zedfest :D
