best soft top cleaner?
Hi!
Can anyone tell me the best cleaner for the soft top?
And is there a product that helps with a few grazes on the rear window?
Thanks

The renevo looks good too. I dont know that there's any shops that stock it though, is there? Or is it just delivery?

All mail-order I think. That's what I did, anyway.jessicafay28 wrote:The renevo looks good too. I dont know that there's any shops that stock it though, is there? Or is it just delivery?

Re: best soft top cleaner?
Just done my hood with Autoglym hood maintenance kit 500ml each of cleaner and reproofer, £11.98 +vat and also a 250ml bottle of Autoglym leathercare balm, £5.93 +vat from Amazon. All in came to 28 quid delivered to Spain.
Pour water on the hood and it immediately beads. Very impressive!

Another vote for the Autoglym kit. I treated mine before putting the car off the road last year. Brought it out last week and washed the car, water beaded perfectly off the hood after 6 months in the garage

Re: best soft top cleaner?
Because like you I'm a noob and I'm mad for it at the moment, I can't stop cleaning it! Lol
Went to Halfords today and bought the wonder wheels fabric hood sealer. £9.99 . Hoovered the roof first, yep hoovered the roof, so Embarrassing, what must the neighbours think! Then spray on the wonder wheels gear. Didn't buy the cleaner as it was clean anyway just wanted to seal and make it more waterproof. Drys on it own and looks great....oh and then it started to rain.......

Re: best soft top cleaner?
Hi everyone. Thanks for all the info and advice. I decided to get the autoglym at the weekend but not tried it yet. I'll let you know the verdict but by the looks of RichP's picture ive got nothing to worry about
Re: best soft top cleaner?
good luck.
I found that using a nail/scrubbing brush worked best to get rid of the really ingrained growths.
And the treatment means water still beads nicely a couple of months in

Re: best soft top cleaner?
Jessica, autoglym is the best, you'll be pleased. While you're waiting for it to arrive, keep some old newspapers and get some masking tape.Clean the roof of muck and leave damp.Use masking tape to put newspapers over the rear plastic window, front & side windows.Apply the proofing solution liberally, you really can't put too much on the roof but you want to avoid paintwork and the windows. You really need a day with no wind, patience is the key.Must be 8-9 months since I did ours and it's still doing a great job of keeping the top waterproof, beading the water so it runs off and keeping inside the car dry.Enough in the kit for 3 applications, maybe 2+years,I would guess so very inexpensive.
Re: best soft top cleaner?
Only other tip I would give is use a 2" paintbrush to "work" the product into the fibres, helps especially near the edges where you are cautious of overrun. I also find that after washing the car a few times, as the soap gets around the edges of the roof where it meets the body, it's worth re-applying some there to keep it "topped up".
