Key fob problem...

Post by S10OTY »

My key fob battery died so thought would just replace it, I have replaced it but now it doesn't work, when I click the button the led illuminates and stays constantly on... Any ideas?

Cheers

Needs pairing with the car I think, should be detailed in the hand book

Pretty sure that the fob will be a transmit only device, so it won't be aware of whether the car is recognising it or not. I take it that you are talking about the separate key fob, as detailed here: http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopi ... 686#p99686

Hello,

Yes it's the 2 button house brick transponder, from this take it I need a trip to a garage to reprogram it with the car?

Thanks

If you press the button and the light stays on, I would suggest that you have dirt trapped in the side of the buttons. The light should only be on when the button is pressed. The unit can be taken apart for cleaning.

Sorry, I was implying that I don't think the fob is working properly, not necessarily that it is no longer paired with the car.

Even if it does need re-pairing, then there should be no need to take it to a dealer. See: http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopi ... =10&t=4959

Hello,

Took the fob apart and cleaned it, it's working fine now.

Thanks both!
