Nice looking, classic wheels. Did you come down in size from a 19 inch wheel - I only ask as you say the tramlining has gone and that generally seems to get worse with bigger wheels.

i had the original 2.2 sport wheels 17's(so still wanted the classic look) went up to 18's thought 19's at first! guy put me off them saying they'd done plenty of zeds and 19's foooked the ride (his opinion not mine) said go with 18's better allround should have no issues the tramlining maybe be because it aint a staggered setup with bigger rears? i have no idea dont shoot!!!! :D

Look the same as the Inovit DTMs. Think this is the best style of aftermarket alloys for the zed. But i am a bit biased :D

Looks very nice with them wheels, should look even better with BMW centre caps. Could you not fit wider tyres on the rears or are the wheels the same width front and rear? You could probably fit a 235 or stretch a 245/255 on the rears to make them look better. What widths are the wheels?

How do you mean "filled the arches" - if viewed from the side, then there should be no difference whatsoever if the correct profile tyres are fitted. If you mean the wheels sit back from the wheelarch, then spacers would fix that. If you mean the tyres don't look as wide when viewed from the rear, then there is not a lot you can do about that.

viewed from the side they looked no different ! his tyres filled the arches because they seemed so big from behind mine seem to sit on a slight camber the top going inwards slightly if you get what i mean? you can see it on the 3rd pic if you look closely!

a view from behind will show us,
from the side they could be 6inch or 12inch, they would all look similar

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Don't worry, spacers will sort it nicely.
Put a straight edge against your wheel up inside the arch and measure the distance between that and the folded lip of the wheel arch at the top of the curve
IE between the two lines below, and see what you have, Make sure you have the straight edge across the wheel top and bottom and behind the arch

Image

I would then take 5 mm off and look for that size spacer (or closest to it) on eBay. Get 'hubcentric' ones for BMW E36/Z3 fitment (5 bolts 120mm pcd and 72.6 bore) and make sure you get bolts with them, that way they will be long enough to account for the new spacer.
(Hubcentric ones re-create the circular lip that you wheel goes over on your brake discs, keeping the wheel centred)
Also if you have locking wheel bolts you will need two new ones that are longer by the width of your spacer.
Once they are on they will fill the arches nicely, !!

(Well it will show the lines on the photo when Photobucket actually updates itself)

Sapphire black/Imola red and black interior/ red roof/ S54 - the only RHD one made.
