Maybe breaking 1.9 Z3

Post by stupot50 »

Just putting the feelers out to find out if anyone would be interested in buying parts from a Helmut Red 1.9, 42k (serviced just days before accident) on the clock. This is my mates car which has been written off with only drivers side front wing, door, rear wing damage and rear wheel damage. Everything else on the car is in excellent condition, black sports seats (usual seat belt guide problem).

Basically if I can buy it at the right price, I'm willing to break it and will sell everything salvageable to anyone who wants parts.

So I can gauge any interest, can anyone wanting bits and pieces please reply to this topic with your requirements, if there is enough interest then I will buy the car from the insurance company.

Cheers

Hi
Does it have front fog lights fitted to the front bumper? If so I need the plastic cover which fits next to each of the fogs.

If you can let me know.

Thanks

Hi Orinoco

Are the fog light plastic covers to fit your 2.8, if so I think you will find the 1.9 are a different size, larger.

Front fog lights are fine, I think they only fit the 1.9 (see my last post)
Drivers door mirror works although there is a little paint bubbling on the base.
Is it the rectangular clock in the centre console? If so, yes that's good to

Hi
Thanks or the replies, yes they are for 2.8. Didn't realise there were different sizes. Thought all Z's with fog lights fitted were the same size cover and one's without fogs fitted just had large plastic covers where the fogs would fit.

You learn something new everyday.

I bought a pair from the dealers a couple of weeks ago so am sorted but wanted a spare set. If anyone is aware of a 2.8 being broken anywhere please let me know.

Regards

Assuming they are the same as on my 98 z3, I could do with a passenger side doorlock actuator.

Does it by any chance have the chrome pack? I could do with a chrome driver's door handle surround

Well Gents, I'm sorry to say that I have just declined the offer to purchase the car as I couldn't generate enough interest to make it viable. I will however find out where it is going and post on here so that you can contact the scrap yard yourselves. ( I presume that's where it will end up)

Thanks to those who were interested, sorry I can't be of help

Cheers
