You wouldn't have had any problems on the Sunday, probably half the amount of cars that turned up on the sat.

Last year on sat there was around 250-300 z cars.

On the Sunday last year there was around 15!

Saturday last year was the main event for us Zeds, this year was about the 911's

I just enjoy the event for what it is, a collection of like minded people showing their cars and having a good social and watching historic cars racing :D

There were about 40 Zeds on Sunday parked on the tarmac as the field was water logged

I enjoyed both Saturday and Sunday for different reasons. By happy accident I was miss-directed to the stand instead of the marshalling a car park on the first day and had no issues parking up. Day 2 was also a breeze thanks to the organisation and the lower numbers.

Good to meet up with a few of you and put faces and real names to board names. Thanks to all those who put hard work into the event. Time permitting I will be there again next year.

Hi Boysie,

We chatted for a bit (topaz z3) when we were waiting to get into the in-field area, nice to meet you.

Met some other nice folk over the course of the day, I suspect we'll be back next year if all goes well! Hopefully we get a parade lap next year!

Cheers.

The 911s managed over 1200cars on their parade lap. But they had some problems with some not getting a full lap and some getting trapped in the area we waited for our parade for over an hour after their lap.

Personally I thought the location and organisation was great but in the future I don't think I would do a large cruise in. I should have peeled off and gone straight to the main entrance which would have been much quicker. I think there where just too many cars at the cruise end point to enter the circuit together and hence us waiting so long / setting off soooo early.

I agree Jon the cruise was a waste of time. I was going to go straight to silverstone (20 minutes)
And get in early.

There was no need to do a cruise for that type of event.

Regarding the parking, as we were in a separate group we go a small area.

Good to see you though Jon, we had a good chat like last year!

Weather was fantastic on Saturday considering the forecast of rain from midday onwards, in reality it was HOT and sunny all day until the clouds rolled in about 5:30 and gave us the parade-cancelling storm after 6.

Good day, although last year felt more special somehow, and I think the layout may have contributed to that. Parking 3 deep didn't feel like a show "stand" as it did last year but merely a place to park the car in the in field. Not too much an issue though as we were wandering around elsewhere in the paddocks for most of the day. BMW stuff was very good though, and the complimentary attractions and gifts were nice!

My thoughts on this year

Firstly thanks to those unsung Herod who organise these events because I know you can't please every one all the time
And I understand that there's corporate BMW to please so don't take any offence
I know I couldn't/ wouldn't dedicate my free time to do it

Thoughts : we left with the main group from the hotel but decidedtohave a bit crack with a yellow Vette and got lost
Good news we missed the que and got straight in
Parking as said was too tight and felt more like parking in a field
If the weather had turned crap it could have been a carnage getting out
Also some were parked 3 deep and pity man stuck in the middle if he had to leave for a familly emergency or something

I thought the racing and he show In general was better than last year
We were quite near the village and food which was good

Last year the parking was much better and better organised but I think that was our year and it was the porkers this year so what can you do

When the thunder came I did a u turn and scarpered as Ive been on a wet track with experienced drivers before,
and after a days racing with oil And rubber on track I expected a few pile ups (chicken)

Weather was better than could have been hoped for
The only thing I wish I'd took apart from suntan cream was a megaphone
To take the mick out of all you rag top drivers and especially jonttt when the rain started

A good day out ( I deserted on Saturday night) and see you next year

Many thanks for those who spent hours and hours making this event happen :thumb:

We did have a good time but if the organisers/BMW are looking for feed back I much prefered it all last year - the cruise was an enjoyable 'cruise' last year, not a race around lanes which were difficult to stay with the lead cars - it was totally unneccessary, and getting lost at the very first roundabout didnt help

The parking was quite poor, as said before, packed like sardines wasnt very pleasant but we were spoiled last year and totally understand and appreciate that it was the 911's year this time. The locatiion was very good and handy for everything, just too many in a small space.

It was very nice to be able to go to the BMW hall for complimentary drinks, and we took advantage of a ride on the big wheel for some great photos of the event.

Really enjoyed the racing, and the hotrods were great fun to watch. Its a shame about the parade lap especially if you hadnt been last year which was ace :D

Great to see everyone again.

Tess had a 760 miles round trip including a few days on the south coast first and drove excellently all the way :drive

Thanks again Ian/Duncan for sorting my ticket out.
