No and no....not had much time for anything recently. I had a go on Photoshop looking at different colours. Not impressed with grey so its more of a black/silver choice now, more likely the latter. I have not managed to get a realistic looking silver on Photoshop so need to try again with that. I have the hardtop fitting ok now so it just needs prep and paint. I'm not in a rush though, sorry to disappoint! Recent effort has been getting some loose ends complete with the V8 conversion. Thats all complete as of last weekend so the hardtop and my new bonnet is the next 'project'.

I'm no expert, and I havent used photoshop for yonks, but cant you sample the colour of the car and then use that for the roof?

oh wow, a hamann hardtop has finally hit british shores! well done Deano for taking the plunge, it looks fantastic!.

Not so good to hear work is need after such a big price but I genuinely believe it will all be worthwhile once you've finished.

As for color, imo you should stick with artic silver, this top looks so good I reckon body coloured will bring out the lines the best.

Will keep watching with interest!

Cheers Shanty. It sounds bad that it didn't fit, but I would have been more surprised if it did considering how often these get manufactured. A couple of hours work had the fit sorted. Paint is the next job and Arctic Silver is the plan. Here it is now, perhaps I should just lacquer over the guide coat for a novel look ;-)

I can't understand how it would make a difference to the fit just because they dont make many. Surely they just are made around a mould so the shape would be the same whether you made one 2 years ago or just yesterday.

For the price I would expect perfect fit and service from Hamann and Autovogue IMHO :|

Its been a long time coming but here she is fitted, and looking good. The colour match is pretty good, as is the fit. The fitting instructions are a bit naff but the parts are all fine and the fitting kits works ok. I got some windscreen sealing adhesive and primer and used that for the rear screen. I think silver was the best choice - what do you think?

Was worried that it was going to be a poor fit and look awful, which would have been a real shame. Thankfully it looks ace and really good in silver.

Most people will be put off getting one by the amount of work you had to do, so that is going to keep it much more exclusive!

Wow the hardtop looks awesome. Great job on the paintwork too loads more satisfying learning to do it yourself than just paying someone. Another string to the bow and all that :D

Thanks for the comments. The inside finish is just black painted and not a good finish at that, so needs some attention at some point.

When driving its noticeable how low the rear window is. Im average height and cant see to the horizon through the mirror.

Is it possible to have a lining fitted by a trimmer or is this another talent you have.
With all the work you have put in, I bet you want it completely perfect in and out
Looking great Deano

Your hardtop looks really good :thumb: good colour too. You have certainly put the hours in to the top to get to this point. I admire your patience with this project as it has not been an easy ride. Great work.

As JC, RH and JM would put it: This has to be the most sorted Z3M.... in the world! :thumb:

IMHO it's either ragtop or the Hamann hardtop for Z3s, no other options. I don't always agree with Hamann styling but they really nailed it with the hardtop. Transforms the whole car to something aggressive and awesome.

Haha I'm thinking of renting access to forum members. £100 gets you 1 hour alone with the hardtop in my garage. Privacy is assured. No tongues alowed though.

First is part #, second - probably should be serial number, but looks like it's repeating.
