Leaking roof question

Post by derekmcwilliam »

Hi all, went to move my z3 today so I could get my jeep out the drive as its mental wind and rain up here today and the z only gets used in the dry... Anyway, when I got into the car both seats had water droplets on them.

After inspection I noticed that the water is dropping in from the splits in the seals of the roof.

Do I need new seals or can they be refurbed, sproosed up, rub silicon on them type o thing?

Oh and my third brake light is leaking also but I recon a dod of silicon will sort that......

Cheers in advance for any help....

Referring to the above link I fixed mine "temporarily" about 18 months ago by using a cycle inner tube repair patch (the kind you just peel the back off and stick down) over the rubber plug making sure to cover the joint.
It's an instant cure, looks good and is still keeping water out.

Think I'll try that, sounds better than gluing in the plug. Cheers!

Well I glued the gromits back in place and I put cycle repair patches over the top too for double protection.....

Let's see what happens once all is dry....

See! If your house is really in bad condition then i must suggest you to hire any cheap home inspector. Well you can try Redondo Beach real estate inspection services. He is very popular and provide cheap services. For more information you can visit his website here http://www.equityinspection.com/redondo ... -beach.php.
