M Roadster Parts

Post by the_youth »

Hi all,

As mentioned on a previous thread, I've come across a guy local to me who has broken an Estoril s50 roadster. Most parts available (except bonnet, bumper, roll hoops, rear axle, dash and 1 headlight, driver side I think).

I'm gonna get some pics over the coming days but he has them stored in a room and its like aladins cave! I came away with a veilside spoiler and boot lid for my M which is undergoing paint work. He advertised the car on eBay over 12 months ago but got frustrated and has not done anything since. I agreed to help as part of my deal with him on the spoiler and I don't mind being honest about that.

So far he's advised me on the following:
Pair of wing mirrors for £200
Pair of seats in blue and black for £500 - I saw these and has the usual wear in the drivers side bolster but repairable with dye etc... Seats are electric and heated (am I right this is true for all M cars?)
Pair of matching door cards too for £200 (the speaker surround on drivers side is slightly damaged but otherwise a decent clean need)
Centre console with the three gauges with chrome surrounds for £125 (again in blue).

He also has doors with glass, rear wings, trim pieces, rear lights, hood etc etc....

He's not made his mind up on prices on a few things (inc engine, gearbox, wheels which are 19" bbs wheels I think) but I'll keep on at him as given the stack of other parts he has (mostly classic ford), these could get lost easily.

Let me know if there are any specific requests and I'll feed them back.

What year was the car as I might be interested if the hood was one with the headliner.

I'd be interested in the M mirrors, my standard ones are held together with liquid metal epoxy!

Waiting to get pics but if you google BBS Motorsport wheels you'll see the style. These are done on anthriciate and are 19". I think the rears are possible 10" wide. But all tyres are in good condition.

Ok, I have a few photos now. Some are great and some aren't. Done whilst breaking the car.

Side Mirrors - Currently 1st dibs already placed but will post pics in case. Not seen them work but told they were and looking at condition I would suspect they are fine. NOW SOLD
Image
Image

Rear View Mirror - Price £100 + P&P
Image
Image

Not the greatest photo but shows the driver seat with typical wear - £500 as above for both seats, the passenger seat is in better nick as expected though I do believe both suffer from the usual seat belt retaining bracket problem.
Image

Centre Console - Currently 1st dibs already placed. Though shown here, the leather gaiters have already gone (pic was taken whilst breaking and no longer with the console) but does come with guages etc....
Image

Door Sills - Available and wants £120 + P&P for the pair. In good condition.
Image
Image

Headlight - £70 + P&P (only the one unfortunately)
Image

These are the wheels but he has someone else after them and will let me know in due course. People have asked what they are so thought a pic for info at least in case he does sell them. I quite like them too and the tyres are good tread!
Image

More stuff to come. Also has rear bumper, rear wings, side skirts, various trim pieces, mechanicals (inc the engine and gearbox) etc..... I plan to get more details at the weekend as I'm going to have a look at the engine as it may be of use.

Is the roof OEM (zipped window)?
I know it's blue.
What is the condition?
What's the price?
Is it still on the car?
How far from Nottingham is it as I'd want to see it before parting with cash.

Had approx 65k on the clock and I think it was a 99 car but would need to check.
Should fit but will need to see if he still has as they usually go quick

Hi
The gear surround will not fit a non M console as its a different shape as far as I'm aware.

The clocks also are not calibrated correctly (even 6 cylinder models) for a non M model as far as I'm aware.

It must be possible to fit it as I've seen non M cars with the chrome fitting installed.

Hi
I have a chrome trim on mine but its not an M one. I bought it from an aftermarket business about 3 years ago. You may be able to modify your console to fit it but the shape looks as if you would have to add to your console as opposed to removing part of your console to make it fit.

Also the part number is specific to the M model (having said that it could be because it's only fitted as standard to the M)!
