Worlds Tiniest V12 Engine
Re: Worlds Tiniest V12 Engine
Wow! I want one.
Actually, I wish I had the skills to make one.
I didn't see how it got a spark for ignition. Is it a tiny little diesel?

Does it not work only on compressed air?

Re: Worlds Tiniest V12 Engine
I was sent that link some years ago...truly a work of art. And yes it only works on compressed air, but in all respects is a working motor as far as the components go. What it lacks are the ports for sparkplugs and I suspect it wouldn't handle the temperatures if it could be fired up. The metals used etc would need to be appropriate to an actual internal combustion engine.

Looking at some of the tools etc. he used, I would guess that he is a watchmaker. I suppose making a Rolex is a bit like making a small engine

Doh! I didn't spot that.Pierrick wrote:Does it not work only on compressed air?
Obvious I suppose. Still a remarkable piece of (micro) engineering.
