Making some progress on my zed (see previous posts)
This was sat in someones garden for over a year, gathering dirt, grime and mould. So at this stage, I have just given everything a really good restoration.
Still plenty to do but I have the bodywork, wheels and hood looking good and the engine has had a service and running well. Interior is still its downfall and I am in the hunt for a few bits in pieces if anyone can help. See post in stock exchange.

Any suggestions as to where to go next? I'm keen on getting some chrome side gills...

When you said the interior still needs work I wasn't expecting it to look as good as that...it looks more than acceptable to me.

I'd leave the chrome side grilles off though; IMHO they make it look cheap and ironically they are anything but.

Nice job. 8-)

The car looks good and the interior looks good in the pictures. Personally, I would always work with the interior colour leather presented to me and would just clean and renovate. Steering wheels can be recovered, new mats can be bought and matching gators for handbrake and gear stick obtained easily and cheaply. Beige is probably cooler to sit on in the summer - I find my black seats can feel red hot on hot June days. :D

INTERIOR

Dash, door cards and steering wheel refurbed - As above, liquid leather followed by some elbow grease and boot polish, worked a treat
New pioneer mp3 head unit to replace the dated JVC tape player
OEM gear knob in polished aluminium - ebay purchase (required a lot of grinding and polishing)

Still trying to source a new centre console, waiting for the right one
Slow but steady progress. There is SO MUCH more to do! :head:

The next must-haves - tonneau cover and wind deflector. Unfortunately these don't come cheap!! :?

Your car is looking great now, Russ. Glad to see the bits & pieces you had from me have been put to good use. I hope you've been stacking on a few miles in it this weekend, the weather's been great for Z' ing.
We will have to catch up again sometime soon mate.
Trayton.
