Kent Cruise Sunday 11th May 2014 CRUISE ON

Post by Ragtop »

Is anyone interested in another Kent Cruise? I haven't had the time to sort out a different route so it will be the same route as in the past. Starting point is BP fuel station at Blue Boys TN12 7HE.

We meet at 9am departing 9.30 and head to Dungeness for tea/coffee and hopefully we will be able to see the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch train. For those who need to burn off energy, there is a lighthouse to climb up if open.

We then head off to the lunch venue Crown Point Inn TN15 0HB with a stop on the way at Headcorn Aerodrome time permitting. It is estimated getting to Crown Point Inn at 1.30.

This is a link to the route. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=20 ... dg=feature

Estimated miles about 105. :drive

Please post below if interested and indicate if you require lunch.

Confirmed

Hey,
Getting the zed back out of hibernation, so will let you know a little closer to the time if I may. It would be the longest run she's ever done if we do come! :D

Hi Mac I see you still have super low mileage on your Zed. Remember the Surrey/Sussex cruise back in 2011. Hope you can make the Kent cruise next month.

Hi Brian look forward to seeing you & Sue again. Would you be staying for lunch as I have to make a booking at the pub letting them know the numbers. It's possible there will be another Z1 on the cruise, he will let me know nearer the time.

Hi,

Hels and I may bring Charlotte along at some point. At the very least we will pop into the Crown Point as we only live round the corner in Wrotham.

Came across a couple of you last year leaving the CP and was disappointed that we had missed all the fun!

Hi Daz

We remember you in our rear view mirror last year. It would be good to see you at some point on the cruise, either at the start, Dungeness, Headcorn or at the Crown Point.

Hi, you will need to set the route up on an ITN file and then It can be downloaded to your Tomtom or garmin device, only certain models will accept the files tho so you'd need to check which model they have. :)

Cheers

Maybe if you plot the route on Google maps, then we can help with the various TomTom/Garmin/Waze files from that.

I'm happy to help out if needed :nerd:

Well the weather forecast is looking pretty crap for the cruise, sunny spells with showers all day, looks like it will be a roof up event!! I know the pub is booked but seriously.. would it be better to put it off to a weekend when the weather is fine, there is a hot spell on the way according to the press...

Hi Alan, yes I am watching the weather and as you say it doesn't look good at the moment. I will wait until Friday evening as the weather forecasters are useless at predicting more than 3 days ahead.

If the forecast is the same on Friday evening we will have to cancel and run it another day as I would want the cruise to be a roof down event.

So if everyone could check this thread on Friday evening, I will post a off or on update.

If its cancelled this Sunday we will try and run it next Sunday.

Should have read the initial post properly...

Now I don't own a suitable device that will import these, so if there's anything wrong with them; don't blame me!!

Sunday's weather looks better than it did a few days ago, it should be mostly bright with a possibility of an odd shower.

So in view of the improved weather forecast the Kent Cruise will go ahead unless the forecast changes drastically.

I'm in Dartford;
first I thought I was busy, then I wasn't, then I almost swapped the z for a Z3M, and then I didn't.
So now I am free and have a clean Z3 with a hard top on so if it's all the same with everyone else I will come along.
Don't require lunch since have a bit of a do to go to later.

Hi Surveyor your welcome to come along. You could have lunch if you change your mind as another couple can't come. Be interesting to hear about your possible upgrade to a Z3M.
