Z1 that was parked for 15 years or so... How much to offer
Hi guys,
I came upon a complete z1, in fair condition, that was parked in the garage for 15-18 years.
How much would you pay for such car?
No missing parts, but I assume quite a lot is involved given tired rubber parts, engine revival...

Re: Z1 that was parked for 15 years or so... How much to off
Before making a valuation of the car, you want to find out how much the seller values it at. To test the water – offer an amount below the price you consider acceptable, in order to discover what the seller is realistically hoping to get. They may not realise what it is actually worth, and you may tow away this Z1 with a big smile on your face.

What part of the world is it in? Which interior? Low/high mileage? Any pictures?

Israel, extremely low mileage.
Garage kept but dirty.
Was not started for almost 15 years

Apparently BMW didn't officially release any in Israel, the closest being Jordan and Syria, are there any others that you know of? Apologies for all the questions, its hard to give an opinion without a little more information, any idea what a roadworthy example would fetch on your market, so we can work backwards from there?

We have 4-5 z1's on the streets. That one I never saw until now .
I guess they were all independently imported.

Any idea on price? Or ever seen one for sale, what was the asking price?DrSasha wrote:We have 4-5 z1's on the streets. That one I never saw until now .

One way get some idea of value is to find out how hard it is to import a secondhand LHD car into Israel. If it's easy and straightforward then continental prices plus €2-3K for shipping etc is what a replacement will cost. But if there's a huge import duty and tax bill and/or it isn't possible to import an older car than the value is much greater.

Can't import a car, younger than 30 years :-0
Re: Z1 that was parked for 15 years or so... How much to off
Which means in 5 years it's price will decrease dramatically. Just wait 5 more years You can use the time to get required spare parts.DrSasha wrote:Can't import a car, younger than 30 years :-0

What is the common price on a LHD good example as of now?
Re: Z1 that was parked for 15 years or so... How much to off
You can see there is a lot off differences in price.
It has not much to do with year of build.
Its all in relation to looks and maintenance and what your expactation is.
A bad serviced care gone cost a lot if yo have to do all the work into a shop.
If you do it your self you can use aftermarket parts (some are cheaper) and save some labor.
Parts specific Z1 are more expensieve and more difficult to get.
Best is take some pictures an post it here and we can have a look at it.
One thing. Its a very nice car to drive and i am still happy with it after 12 years.
