Beamish 2014

Post by Fender2004 »

Sunday 27th April 2014.

We are delighted to have been invited by Beamish Museum to put on a show of BMW cars. We have in the past arranged days out at Beamish and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Visit the many features including the old town, railway station, colliery and farm to mention only a few.

ENTRY is only £8.00 per head if you are in a BMW. The normal price is £17.50 per head(BIG SAVING) Entry to this big BMW day is from 9.30am to 11.00am and there is NO MOVMENT of cars between 11.00am and 4.00pm Full details of this great museum are at http://www.beamish.org.uk.

Entry is pay on the day at the gate into the show field, entry is from 9.30am till 11.00am, arrive after 11.00am and unfortunately it's full price and park in the public car park. The only stipulation Beamish is strict about is there is no movement of vehicles between 11.00am and 4.00pm due to public safety, but I can assure you that if you arrive at 10.00am and want to leave before 4.00pm you have only seen half of this great museum has on show. Beamish is about two miles west off junction 63 of the A1M. Address is Beamish Museum, Beamish, County Durham, DH9 ORG. Beamish web site http://www.beamish.org.uk

You do not have to be a BMWCC member to attend this show.

Last year there was over 80 BMW cars attended so there will be lots of BMW vehicles to look at as well as all the attractions that Beamish has to offer.

Please post below if you wish to attend this show and I'll update the list of everyone who wishes to attend.

If one of the moderators could transfer this to the 'Upcoming Events' section that would be great.

Would you believe that I was only looking at this on Friday after reading about the 2013 event and wondering if you would be co-ordinating the Z3 group. I am a new Z3 owner and have a bit of work to get done before the end of April, but I have made a note of the date and am already looking forward to meeting with some other Z3 -ers from the North -East.

Put the date in our diary - we've been back to Beamish a couple of times since last year and there is more being added all the time.

Received email for Beamish this morning informing me that the entrance fee will be £8 and not the seven pounds I originally posted.

Sorry about this news but there is nothing I could do.

I have also changed the original post with the correct price so anyone else will just see the new price.

Hope this doesn't put anyone off.

Thanks

I recently purchased a 52 plate Z3 2.2 sport in Titanium silver, its my first Z3 and wanted one for ages. I will be attending the Beamish event with my Son who is also a BMW fan.

We are from Hartlepool so not too far to travel.

Lets hope for a nice warm sunny dry day!

I hope to meet up with some of the zroadster members on the day and could probably do with some advice about a few things.

See you all on the day!

Loved this meet last year and really hoping I can make it again this year.

The zed hasn't been off the drive for 6 months until today when it failed its MOT! Time to replace the almost 17 year old exhaust.

It is also my oldest sons 12th birthday, it might have to be a birthday trip to Beamish. Hope to see you there.

I haven't got a BMW of any description! On the lookout for a new car but it won't be a BMW this time. I'm a member of Beamish so won't pay anyway to get in.

Don't let the weather put you off. I've been visiting Beamish since I was 10 years old at all different times of the year in all types of weather and always at a great day out. There's plenty to do and and see inside and out. I think it was Billy Connolly who once said there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong shoes :)

Hi
Thanks for sorting this - was a great day out for us. The weather wasn't too bad and great to see a semi circle of cars!!
Beamish is a good day out and the local volenteers in the various buildings make it all the better.

Soup and a sandwich in the Teas shop certainly hit the spot this lunchtime.

Northern hospitality at it's best.

I was late getting to the hotel, but when I got there, everyone was raving about your car and had I seen it?

After speaking to you at Beamish, I wandered off to tour the museum and didn't get back till late afternoon.
I also hung back till after 5:00 pm, when we were allowed to go up to the town street for a photo-shoot :)

As no-one has posted any photos, I'll share mine ~BMWCCScotland - 27th April ~ Beamish Museum - I think I got every Zed?
