bit of play on seats z3.

Post by eddie1 »

Hi, My 2.8 Z3, the seats have a little movement forward and back, my bro' in laws M roadster does the same. Is this common on the Zs, what is it thats causing it?

It's the bushes. Aceman on here sells them. :)

Did some one call :D

Hi Eddie,

If you give me a PM I will let you know how you can get hold of a set of bushes or maybe two if your bro' in law wants some too but you can click on the link in my sig for some more info. It is a relatively easy fix and eradicates the movement in the seat under braking which if you are unlucky enough can possibly fail an mot too.

Had same problem last summer, seats out and replaced bushes with new ones from 'aceman' and seats as new! Careful with the wires under the seats (take photos with your mobile is a good tip), take keys out of ignition and thoroughly read the 'knowledge base' first so you know exactly what you are doing. That done, its a suprisingly straightforward and easy job.....on a dry warm day. :rtm:

Takes about and hour to hour and half to do both seats Eddie so if you are paying someone to do it for you should give you an idea of the overall cost to get them done depending on their hourly rate.
