New to the Z3 so thought id come along and read up about them

Bit soon for a first question but
what wheels/size should a 1998 1.9 model have fitted ,i don't like the odd wheels mine has ,

Hi and welcome! Your info and profile on the car are rather lacking. It depends on what model you have. Is it a 1.9 or 2.8? There's a meet at Shepshed in August which I assume isn't far for you being Leicester way if you want to come along? The thread is on the home page under "Midland meet august 17th", if your interested add your name to the list. :)

Cheers
Dave

Hi and welcome to the forum.

What is different about the front and rear wheels? They look to be the same design to me, so are they differing widths? This is not unusual on a wide-bodied Z3, but not something that you usually find on a narrowbody pre-facelift 1.9, due to the narrower rear wheel arches. A staggered setup was standard on the Z3M and an option on other models.

Standard wheels would likely have been Pepperpots or Z-Stars (like those on mine), but there are plenty of other wheels that will fit, including a good number of BMW ones, many of which were available as options for the Z3.

Cheers R.

Hi and welcome - enjoy your car :)
Generally the 1.9s had 16 inch diameter wheels and some (like mine) had an optional 17 inch. Yours look as though they might be bigger. If you want to revert to BMW Z3 OE wheels, they are fairly numerous on ebay (and here from time to time) and can be bought quite reasonably.

Hi and welcome from near Leicester. As stated above 16" were standard, our 3.0 had 16" when built and 17" were the option. The offset is the most important so most wheels from the 3 series will fit but those from a 5 series will not.

Hope you enjoy and make the most of the current weather and may see you about. Ask as many questions as you want most problems have been encountered by various members and solutions found.

This is the list of all BMW wheels.top left of the page lets you choose the model and then lists all the standard wheels that fit each model.

Z's came with either style 18,32,42,43,64 or 78 as standard and the offset is listed when you click on the wheel oicture.
