Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
Need to replace the rear tyres on the Z3 2.0.
I have Falken 452's on at present and have no problem with them. They have done about 14,000 and are down to 3mm so will require changing soon.
I have standard 16" wheels,
Should I replace with the same or is there anything better on the market now?.

Doing the rounds myself to get rid of the awful Marshalls on at present
On the verge of ordering Falken 914 at £80 a corner
Seem to have the best reviews for the Z at the money

Thanks for the opinions, think I will stay with the Falkens
Re: Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
If you are on 3.0mm you've still got some way to go to reach the legal minimum of 1.6mm
Haggling hard at my local ATS Euromaster a couple of months ago got me 4 x Avon ZV5 for £335 fully fitted. I'm sure that the Falkens are a good tyre, its just that I prefer to stick to a brand that I've heard of.

Hi just to add my experience I have found Black Circles very competitive and you can chose a convenient garage to have them fitted. Another thing is when you chose the garage give them a chance to undercut the quoted price.
Re: Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
They and the other national brands are under a great deal of pressure to achieve their sales targets and if they know that you are a retail customer - as opposed to a company car driver - and that you want four tyres, you can push them hard.Del wrote:That was a good deal, I have to hire your services when I want some new tyresTR4man wrote:Haggling hard at my local ATS Euromaster a couple of months ago got me 4 x Avon ZV5 for £335 fully fitted
Most of them have some sort of "price match" and one can be played off against another.
You have to watch them though, because they'll quote a price and then want to add on the new valves and environmental disposal afterwards.
It's a bit of fun too, seeing how low you can get them to go.

I had F452s on my 123d, maybe mine were defect, but braking was a nightmare. Never ever cheap tyres.Springer wrote:Thanks for the opinions, think I will stay with the Falkens

Falken 914s I have just fitted 4 and they replaced a set of 912s. Brilliant tyres for the money. Excellent grip and they last a long time.
Re: Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
Not sure what size 16 inch tyres you have but I have always found Uniroyal Rainsports to be excellent - 225/50 R16s are £77 from Tyreleader.

Hi,
Fitted Hankook Ventus Prime-2 all around. Got them fitted locally via Blackcircles and they are really good. When I got the car I called it Skippy as with the Pirellis it skipped left & right depending on road surface.

Re: Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
Sorry to hijack an old thread but I'm on Falkens that have about 8mm tread but are cracked and crazed between tread and need replacing. I may now get 4 new Falken but can someone tell me what the OE tyre was so I can frighten myself with the price
Thanks
Dave

Uniroyal rainsport 3 from camskill. Phenomenal wet grip. Very good dry.
Re: Best tyres for my Z3 2.0
Googled these Falken 914s and they do seem to get good reviews. I have just checked the tyres on mine which though they all have reasonable tread left, range in age from 2004 to 2008. The down side I guess of buying a low mileage occasional use car. The tyres need replacing because they have aged rather than worm out. Will try out these Falcons.

Bridgstone potenza all round on zebedee,I had the same tyres on my E91 2.0d msport but they were run flats

Got Matador MP 46 Hectorra 2s on my 1.9. They get great reviews and I have no complaints at all.

hi everybody
I,m new to the forum and thought I just tell everyone that I have just fitted the Avon zv5 on all corners and the tramlining that the car suffered from( Michelin fronts & perrili rears) has all but completely gone!!! Internal noise level has gone down and now the car is a joy to drive. And the best bit is it cost £305 all in as a AA member,

I fitted Avon ZV5's on my 16" wheels a couple of years back, no tramlining at all, good grip, reasonably priced and quiet.wombat wrote:hi everybody

No surprise at curing tramlining by removing Pirelli tyres,..... or Perillous tyres as I prefer to call them.wombat wrote:hi everybody

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..
