Fan heater bulb part No?

Post by TitanTim »

Hi all,

Looks like I need to replace one of interior heater control bulbs :( as the fan blower switch isn't lighting up so I'm guessing its right side bulb.

Does anyone have a part number please for the bulb, its not immediately clear on REALOEM. The parts diagram for the bulb just shows an arrow going to the interior with Part No.8. Is part no 61138353797 correct?

Cheers,

Tim.

Yep they aren't cheap for what they are and its a bit fiddly to get them out if (as I assume) the rest of the console will be remaining in place - that said I have hands the size of space hoppers and I managed them!

If you want to do them cheaper and have plenty of time then Barry southernboy found a cheap fix for the bulbs which involved a bit of delicate rework but saves the money....

Hi
Both my heater bulbs have gone as well.
So I popped over to Sytner BMW in Shirley Solihull to buy two some time back.
The guy behind the counter looked the part up on his computer but said there was only
one bulb and it was £6.88 but I know that there is two from this site, so I walked away.
Are we certain that the part number given is correct or that one on Ebay is right.?
Thank you

Vic, the part number above 08 BULB SOCKET WITH BULB 1 61138353797 is from REALOEM for the Z3 and matches the e-bay part number which also says for a Z3. I've ordered 2 bulbs as will do both panel bulbs at the same time.

I just pulled mine out [just the bulb] and replaced it with a 50 cent replacement. Looks kind of like a Christmas tree light bulb. No need to drill and solder and all that crap. :)

I recently did mine and though I did remove the radio I didn't find it helped me and went in behind the panel at the passenger side. I had to use long nose pliers to pull them out, they are just a push fit but very stiff. About an hour to find them and fathom out how to do it and two minutes to put new one in.
Get the Elastoplast ready!
B.61138353797 is definitely correct.
