Gear linkage

Post by ChrisS »

Z1 won't play today. Gear lever is unconnected. It feels completely floppy. Is it likely to bethe bottom of the gear stick or the linkage into the gearbox? Does anyone have previous experience of this?

Part ordered. The exhaust needs to be removed to fit it, so I'm replacing the rubber link between the gearbox and the torque tube at the same time.

A sheared rod connecting the bottom of the gearstick to the gearbox. A replacement will be in from Germany tomorrow, together with a kit of bushes, which should
make the gear selection smoother.
While the exhaust is off, we're replacing the perished rubber link at the front end of the torque tube. Unfortunately, it will cost about £100 after club discount instead of the €56 price I've seen quoted on some German websites.
The Z1 should be on the road again on Wednesday, latest.
