Clear 3rd brakelight fitting tip

Post by z3lowey »

I have got hold of a 3rd brakelight complete with body colour cover - looks fairly straightforward to fit, just wondering whether it would be easier to fit entire unit including cover, or just remove light lens part and swap over?

Anybody got any hands on experience of this?

Thanks guys

Hi

I changed mine a while ago, it's on my progress thread

To be honest it's really easy to do, from memory the cover is only held on to the light with two bolts. It's easier enough to keep the original or swap it with yours. A 15min job max. Good luck :D

Thanks for reply - the only thing I can't loosen is the electrical connector - it's as tight as a nuns ****!!

I assume it's supposed to just push in/pull out, or is there a knack to it??

Sorted - I had to tease it out with the help of a tiny flat head screw driver. Really tidied the back end up nicely!!

I must get round to some piccies, I've fitted a brushed alu centre console, chrome gills, front fogs, and new steering wheel with matt chrome insert too. Car much improved now.

Love this site - always plenty of help and interesting threads on here, cheers guys!!
