SOLD!!! 2001(Y) Z3 3.0i Topaz Blue 66,000 miles £5,000

Post by OldskoolRS »

I've owned this Z3 for just over 4 years, but it's barely getting any use as I have a company car, so the last few MOTs have only 500 miles between them. I've spent more time polishing it and detailing to really bring it up to scratch than actually driving it. :D I replaced some of the front end bushes with polybush ones and new drop links, plus the strut brace to tighten it all up nicely. I had a new rear screen fitted last year and the hood itself is very tidy. It had BMW history for a fair chunk of it's life, the previous owner then used a local independent and it has been Engineer maintained by myself the last 4 years/2500 miles.

NOTE: This last point means that there are no dealer stamps during my time; there is a pile of receipts for various parts I've fitted. If this puts you off, then I understand, but it may be hard to find a 15 year old car with a full dealer history.

It includes the optional wind deflector and black tonneau cover.

The car is located in Berkshire not far from Wokingham asking price is £5,000, please PM me with offers.

Please do not post on this thread that you think the car is underpriced unless you are willing to offer me whatever higher amount you think it should be priced at.

No worries Walter, I hadn't seen that you'd got one sorted, good luck with the project. My fault for not bumping this thread, but I thought I wouldn't be able to reply to any posts while I was on holiday so I left it alone.

I'm debating trading the Z3 in and then privately selling my OH's Mini (probably easier to shift on at this time of year) as we want to combine the two cars for one that will get a little more use than they have individually since I have a company car for daily use anyway.

Looks very nice, I sold my 2.8 topaz blue Z3 earlier this year and soon regretted it. I wouldn't let that go for much less than you are asking. If it's as good as it looks on here that's a fair price. Apart from the 'M' model (very expensive), the 3 litre and 2.8 seem to be the most sought after so I'm sure you'll get a buyer.

Notice that I have a fellow 'zed fan' nearby, Belper! I'm at Ripley.

No PM received as yet. The car is still for sale.

EDIT: My inbox was only 20% full, but I've cleared it out anyway, so there shouldn't be any issues from my end.

I have decided to pull this advert as I've had quite a bit of interest, but for whatever reason I've had no-shows or cancellations. I'd forgotten what a pain it is to try to sell a car privately. :head:

I don't know what I need to do to archive this thread? I have a hard top which I will re-advertise also (due to another let down) so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to have two adverts running in this section? I will SORN the car at the end of September so if anyone reads this after this time I will not be able to demonstrate the car on the road, so it's probably not worth bothering.

I can see why people use 'we buy any car'...

I'm not sure you could use the 'we rob any car' as your car may be too old.......however that's a blessing.
The price you are quoted bears no relation to what you are offered if you go to them. Unless your car is in showroom condition with absolutely no marks, stone chips or age related wear be prepare for them to hit you very low indeed.
In fact their online valuations ( despite being honest about the condition) are like the car manufacturers fuel consumption figures.....highly optimistic.
It's a bit off thread so sorry for that, but has anyone actually achieved the online quotation from these people?

Car has been sold today (25 Feb 2017), the new owner may well introduce himself at some point.

It's a shame you have no takers as the price is fair for a 3.0.
Just start a new thread for the hard top. I paid £700 for my Topaz blue top with fitting kit ( though no switch included). It should sell easily as we approach winter. Looking at your car I'm sure your top is in good condition so should go for more than I paid.
Good luck.
