UFO in my car?

Post by warhammer23 »

Since i bought the car a year a go i can't figure out what these are ? One on each side.

1.Anybody has a clue?

2.To mention that i don't use the alarm (don't know how to check if it's off or not - i have a small security key (?) ) and when i remove the keys after driving the car will beep 2 or 3 times. The same for unlocking before starting the engine. Are they related?

They are annoying to see there hanging especially that one of them melted my windscreen because of the glue used in reaction to the sun (?)
Plus i don't want the car to beep everytime i enter/exit it.

Thank you.

I had similar in my car, but were stuck to the pillars with Velcro....mine were a microphone for an old Nokia car phone system, the main bit was tucked up behind the dash above the passengers footwell....never bleeped 'tho.

They're alarm sensors. I assume from what you say that you are locking and unlocking with the key in the door, rather than a remote. Where is the beeping coming from? Under the bonnet, or in the cabin?

Thanks guys.
Yes, only using the keys.
The sound is coming inside the cabin.

Yes they are ultrasonic movement detectors. The Devil's devices in a car with spiders in it. I have them in my 'other' car and I've put Sellotape over them.

I see. Makes sense now giving their location.

So if i cut them my car will self distruct ... ?
What if i hide them in under the dash or can they be completely removed without headaches?

Thank you.

There should be a little red light on the dash, if you press it, it turns them off. This allows you can say leave a cat in the car and still put the alarm on.

If you are thinking of getting rid of them, I would be very happy to have one of them - one of mine has lost the rear part that attaches to the windscreen and I've not been able to track one down yet.

Have to talk to my mechanic if it is doable aka ecu thinks i am trying to steal it etc.
Unfortunately one has its casing broken and i took it off and hid them underneath the pillar.
So i got what i wanted. The car didn't implode and i don't see them anymore. :)
