1997 2.8 trailing arm

Post by dansutton »

Hello all. Hope im in the correct section? Ive recently had an mot and ive been advised that i will have to renew/replace my driver side rear trailing arm soon as it is now heavily corroded/rusty. Passenger one seems fine. Does anyone know where i could get one relatively cheap/ someone trustworthy. Ive seen one on ebay for £325 which is powder coated etc and the dealers have quoted £1775 just for the part lol. Many thanks Danny.

The trailing arm is a hefty piece of metal, has yours corroded through revealing holes or is it just surface rust making it a bit thin in places?
If its in a bad state and I would seek a second opinion it might be an idea to get a replacement in better condition from one of the Breakers who are members on this forum. Clean and repaint and refit with new bushes.

I have a complete rear axle with trailing arms, diff and propshaft.

I was going to keep it for myself but happy to free the space and take the cash if it goes to a forum member.

I'm looking for £250. It's from a well maintained 2.2 but the trailing arms/brakes are all the same. It's solid with surface rust of course.

If you are interested PM me and I will send a photo. Don't buy the powder coated one off eBay. You are paying about £250 of the price for the shotblast/powder coat which is £30 worth.

Plus Willy, Kodak & Maycee - All 2.2 Sport projects. Yes, 6 is a lot of Z3s :)
Always happy to try and help with spares :)
