Just gone to update the colour of my (yet to be collected) Z3 1.9 which is Palmetto Green.
Select the relevant colour in the drop down. When submitting get an error: The external colour is too long for the field - maximum 25 characters allowed.
Have others experienced the same :?:

Found another Z3 so back here after a long break :) 1999 1.9, Palmetto Green
1 Morgan 4/4 (selling in Spring) and a Land Rover 90 (keeping forever)

Not an error that I have seen reported before, but I have a fairly good idea what it might be. When I get a chance, I will have a look and see if I can fix it.

Cheers R.

Ta Rob.
Probably just me. Thanks for the prompt response.
I'm sure I said it 7 years ago - nice FrogEye :)

Problem found, now I just need to fix it!

BTW It is just you - you are the first and only user to try to set "Palmetto Green II Metallic" as your car colour - and therein lies the problem...

Frog is still going well - it did a coast-to-coast run earlier this year - which was good fun. :drive

That sounds like a great road trip Rob!
I have done LeJog in my '76 Morgan, but sold that car 4 years ago. The present one has done a Highland trek.
I shall be looking for some interesting road trips next year, in the Z.

Fixing the problem. May be easiest just to shorten the colour name?
It's a novelty for me to be first at anything!

Hopefully it is now fixed. Not just sure whether it was my bad when I converted the site to phpBB 3.0 some years ago, or a handover from the olden days when the exterior colours piece was added, which I then copied. Either way it was set to validate the exterior colour with a max length of 25, even though the field itself can store more than that, so I have just tweaked the validation to match the max length of the colour names from the table that drives the combo box. That way I don't have to worry about it in future. :)

Let me know if it works.

C2C involved about 30 other Healeys - and the one and only Shell petrol station at the start had never been so busy!

That works! :D

Bet that was a sight - 30 Healeys. I see a few at Prescott and one of my Morgan pals now owns a 3000 after selling his +4 Morgan.

Thanks for sorting that - I shall input the other details once I have the car, hopefully next week.
