just wondering whether any 'young' drivers have had decent quotes on a 2.8 Z3? i'm 23 but only have 1 NCB. On 8th month of 2nd NCB but morethan wont let me change cars
i think the saving i make on getting the car now (i.e. winter deal) is greater than the premium difference if i waited for a full 2 NCB.
anyway my best quotes have been from Bell/Admiral at around £1300 - just wondering if anyone had any luck getting anything cheaper..
When I was sub 25 I insured a 2.8 3 series for about 600 through Adrian Flux ( I think I had 2/3 years NCB though). Also I find they are very mod friendly which is worth bearing in mind for the future.
Currently am paying just oover £500 with 5 years NCB, business use and 40,000 miles usage declared. This is with Admiral.
I'm not so 'young', but my 3.0 (which is a second car and had no NCB) was by the cheapest at Admiral. We have 3 cars with them now. Service is excellent too.

I always thought at 26 I was quite young for a Z driver, but actually seems like there's lots of us in our 20s. How old do you think the average Z driver is?
Agree with John....when I started looking for a new car [this time last year] I wanted something fun whilst I didn't have the whole family thing to deal with....had a budget of around £11k and wanted a convertible.....didn't realise that if you looked around and didn't just buy the first thing that tempted you there are a fair few cars you can get for that sort of cash....obviously the running costs are higher than getting the standard Ford, Renault etc but then you don't have nearly the fun!
Enjoy it whilst you can as your next motor will probably need to have back seats and a proper boot!
I agree, I am 24 and run an ///M Roadster as a second car.
I added my father and the quote went down to £700 with Elephant which I thought was pretty cheap considering I have no years no claims as my other car is a company car.
