Bunch o' Hunts

Venturing into the lands of Hereward the Wake.

Apologies in advance for the small quantity of photographs but I spent most of the day hanging on to the steering wheel for grim death. It was remarked afterwards that this was the fastest cruise ever, approaching the spirited driving of the 'Dawn Raids'. Just over a week later my back is now starting to heal.

Our first stop was Crowland

Where we braved the lurking Fenganese skraelings

to take photos from the top of the Trinity bridge. Built in the 14th-century at the centre of the village, it stands on the site of an earlier bridge recorded in 943. Unusually it has three footways which carried people over two streams which once existed here.

We stopped seven feet below sea level in the middle of nowhere (Holme Fen)

to see the famous posts erected when the land was drained 100+ years ago

We finished in Spokey's local car park where he meets his Nova friends

First time out for Zmeagol. Would you believe I was running in!! Mustn't exceed 100 mph which is why I fell back at times.

Great day out, Spokey
