| . Flat Battery.... . |

Posted by Bruce Holder on 25-Nov-2000 at 23:30: I had a lucky escape the other day, but this has raised a question I hope someone out there can answer!! Going to 'dig' my car out after a few weeks of rest, I couldn't get the door to go down, and realised the battery must be flat (I had forgetfully left the boot slightly open ie. the boot light had drained the power!) How do I get in? Luckily I had left the roof unlocked (I often do this because I seldom drive the car with the roof up, so only pull it closed to keep any dust out when in the garage) so I could climb in over the side and get to the battery, but what would I do if the roof was locked? Is there any way of getting into the car (therefore the battery) manually? Is there any hidden 'socket' I can access to put some power to the door? I have since thought of making a connector in the boot so I can get power to the battery if this ever happens again, but it seems to me this is one thing that BMW overlooked when designing this otherwise outstanding motor. Any help would or suggestions would be appreciated, but in the meantime I'll be extra cautious when garaging the car. Thanks in advance, Bruce. P.S. Is there anyone out there who lives in or near the Bristol area?
