David,

I'm not sure how to lock the doors from the inside, but maybe a consolation is - does any non Z1 owner know how to open the door?

The reason I say this is because when introducing anyone to my car who has never seen it before (most people!) I get them to open the door (I always love to see the expression on thier faces!!!) The main problem there is I end up having to explain HOW to open the door because they all try to pull/lift/find the handle on the door itself.

On most cars, you don't try to open the door by pressing the lock (because they all have handles) and so anyone trying to get into the Z1 wouldn't stop to think to press the button when it just looks like a door lock. My experience of letting people open the door goes to prove this - and these are people who aren't in a rush to get in unlike a thief/carjacker etc!

I don't like to think too much about the situation and hope it never happens to anyone (he stops to touch some wood!) but maybe this will put your mind at rest.

One thing to help, is make sure you have nothing on display....i.e. wallet, phone or anything expensive, this way you minimise the risk of someone wishing to get in your car in the first place. As for stealing the car....most people (even hardened criminals) will be too busy gawping at the car to even think of stealing it.

I have taken mine into some of the roughest parts of Bristol (heard of St Pauls?) and get nothing but 'respect' from some rather un-wholesome looking characters!!

Drive, enjoy and try not to worry about these things!

Hope this helps in some way?

Regards,

Bruce.
