I'm suprised I got the infor from Cathy Rice who worked for DOT until she was fired in august that only 2 more was done before mine. 4 days later she was fired mine was excepted but she kept delaying mine for 2 months ! I had everything done and she wouldn't give me a go, after a replacement was handling the case she gave us the final release in 2 days. I had about 35 pages of information, pictures, statements, declarations, ins papers, etc. She was still delaying it for some unknow cause. I have had a very difficult time to reach her, I left usually 10-12 messages before I could reach hr, neverthless she would never call me back and nor she would respond to E-mails and She always claimed that she never received my E-mails with a pictures ! I don;t know what happened but I was happy to hear that she was replaced !  I was ready to go to Washington and get it straight in person ! 
: : Anyway I know one Z1 in Miami which was also offered for sale in Ebay about a year ago, that is an illegal import. They faked the papers as the car is a 325iC not Z1. I do not have the copy of the title any more but it is irrevelant anyway. I do not like to give out VIN Numbers to strangers especially not on public boards for safety reasons. Mine is legal import and it is under my wife's name. The reason I started this whole thing, just because somebody who is selling the car is not a registered owner doesn't mean he is fake or hiding something. He could be an agent or maybe a brother, or he could have done the same thing as I did put it on the wife's name. What happenend in my case that she was in europe when my friend found this car (a collector owned it before but the '00 stock market crash took a hit on him, so he sold a few toys along with a Z1) and she bought the car registered it and when we decided to import it, simply just used her name.
: : I'm still curios where can you get those informations as they are supposed to be un-public as long as they are not authorized to be open for public view.
