: It appears that it is a detergent additive to prevent carbon deposits. I recall that when in the US a long time ago, they get very excited about detergent fules.
: To be honest, if I am talking about the same stuff as you (and I have not seen the mag article), then I would go for Shell Optimax. It is 98.6 RON rated and therfore will allow the engine management computer to get the best advance curve on the ignition timing before knocking is sensed. I have tried it and it works!
