Today in a process of installing new alternator (don't ask why !!!) I noticed a small trumpet looking restrictor in the air filter box. Seems like the air could only come in between this trumpet thing and a wall which is about 1 inch the most. Needless to say I removed that thing but wondering why was that thing there. Is there any need for that ? The car seems to be running happier w/o it especially at higher rpm range.
Also the rubber connection between airbox housing and throttle body is worn and has a small cut. I superglued it for now, but will have to replace that. This could cause uneven idle and maybe this is an answer for Allan Harrop question.
I just love this car and I keep fixing every little thing on it, until it willbe 100% perfect.
