So it very well could be a loose connection. The reason I told you the big rubber hose between the air intake and throttle body because that is what I had. I had a bad idle at cold and sometimes no idle at all and thenn a jumpy idle from 500-1600rpm. I glued it and it runs much much better now.
DOes anybody know why was that funny looking (trumpet) restrictor in the airbox ? I took it out but what was the original function ?

Besides however designed the air intake box was either - stupid , or never had to service his car. Why dod you have to jack-up the car and remove 2 filthy bolts behind the driver side wheel to change the airfilter ???? Designs like these makes me puke (sorry !) SO much money invested into cars and this was the best he/she could come up with ? Also why is the battery is behind the driver seat when that is a non folding seat ? Change a battery is a challange specially with those black boxes bolted on the battery cover.
So far I have not found many flakes on the z1 but these 2 are definietly on a stupidity list !
