: : Is the car covered by BMW used car warranty? : : If so; and the door failed to work, then I am suprised to hear that the job isn't covered. : : Paul, the car is covered by BMW warranty and your excellent link to your site Jeez Can't believe the warranty boys won't cough up. I had a warranty on mine when I acquired it and had a problem with the door mechanism - jammed lock-button. Took it into Sytner BMW and they sorted that under warranty - no quibble. I can see there might be a grey area if there was some kind of partial claim for spraying the door if you've been unfortunate enough to have those scratches appear on the door skin but, if the doors won't/can't go up and down that's tantamount to the waterpump unexpectedly giving up the ghost. Whether or not it was down to wear and tear is irrelevant. I believe my warranty booklet said that EVERYTHING is covered - except bodywork or service consumables - oil/air filters, tyres etc. I really think you should push BMW Warranty on this, Sandra cos, as the dealer's gonna get paid one way or the other, I don't think they're gonna try to knock you.
