Thanks Paris
Much appreciated ! Sounds good - sounds like the headlights can be adjusted rather than replaced ? I had something similar years ago importing a 3 series - the bulbs were simply rotated through 180 degrees for the RHD set-up. That's good news. Good news also on the Speedo.

I'll likely take you up on that offer - thanks again. I'll let you know when I get that far...

: : I'm interested in buying a Z1 in Germany and importing into Ireland - I imagine the process/ technical approvals are similar to the U.K.

: : What are the hurdles, what do I need to watch out for ?

: : What about the lights for example - do I need to switch them or modify them ? Is speedo a problem in KMH ?

: : Any help/ hints appreciated !

: Sorry I can't be of much help on most of your questions. I have an owners manual and shop manuals that provide data on how to switch the direction of the headlights when a car is driven on the 'opposite side of the road'. I would be more than happy to photocopy and post/fax them to you once you have bought your car. Just email me at the appropriate time and I would be happy to do this for you. I might also be able to scan in the pictures and email them to you.

: For what its worth my Z1 was imported in from Germany into the UK and when I bought it it still had the KPH speedo, never had any problems with the UK MOT.

: cheers,

: Paris
