Paul, you are right. by the way, I did not intended to be rude to Michael about his bad english, just you and me and others are tried to understand what was he saying and he did not explained it very well. Finally he did, but I really wanted to help him ! I even called this place in Germany who has a complete rear muffler for sale ! But it is true, that not a lot of people who speaks english has a Z1 compare to other BMW models. The Z3 and Z4 boards are does not exite me as they are really different crowd. I can compare them to a E36 board which is a very bad crowd, lots of flaming, cursing, etc. The younger and richer the crowd is, the less exiting the boards are. SO it looks that you have sold your Z1 as you say that you miss it. I'm sorry to hear that, I hoped that you will be able to keep it. Maybe if you find an another one, for less money then you can come back to an onwership. I will sell mine, I know I will have to but trying to put it out as far as I can. THis is life, certain things are more important then others. Did you have a chance to buy something else as a toy car yet ? Ihave read an english paper few weeks ago (an old magazine) and I was amazed of the variety of small 2 seater roadsters made and run in england. Looks as you guys don't care about the cold and foggy and rainy days and drive a roadster anytime. And me if it is too cold (50F) or too hot (80+) don't even bother with a Z1. This is spoiled ! :-( I don't want to be like that... I'm limited to 2500 miles, but last year I drove 1000 miles so far, so I'm far behind my limit. I wish that we could buy those roadsters here, so many nice ones. I always loved the MG's and TVR's even the old ones which were a fixer-runners and a new ones looks even better then ever. But htese are just a big names, there were almost a 100 small companies who manufacture some sort of cars, replicas. This could never be happening here, with a strict laws and expensive labor, these type of manufacturing would die in the US instantly. The market will be also different, if you mention a Peugeot or Renault to a US person, they will all laugh at you. I tried to explain them that the cars they know 15-17 y/o ones and the company has improved a lot. They won't belive me, but they go out and they buy a Pontiac or Ford both are famous about making a crappy cars. Their attitude against anything that non-american or japanese and not made by the big german trio - MB-BMW-AUDI is extraordinary stupid. Also when I mention a diesel engine they laugh and call me an ignorent. They even asked me how can I work in a car business if I think the diesel has any future in automobile industry ? I explained them all I know about the new generation of diesels and proved myself with magazines where they would see the numbers and improvements, but no. They all said, diesel is a dead end, only belongs to stinky trucks and will never buy a diesel in their life. Sad, that a country with so many schools and so good news system, still so far behind the world and still lives in a 80's. Since I live here, I realized many things and makes me think every day that I might need to move back to europe. I wish that I could change an attitude of people here, it would bring goo to the world. This attitude directs us to war too ! The same people who belives diesel is wrong, told me that a war against iraq and afghanistan and india, etc is a good thing, because we have to make things right. I asked them why does he thinks the US knows what is right or wrong, since even inside the country there are many problems and conflicts, but he never gave me a straight answer just repeated some old notes from the current president's father... I gave up and went home dumber and angrier then before. sorry if I bored you people here, politics does not belong here, just carried away a little. I will take the Z1 out today and drive it, the weather is great ! 66F and sunny, a little too windy though... happy holidays to everyone !
