I will look out the part number for you if you want - you will need a microfiche reader though! It should be available through any dealer world wide. If you join the BMW Car Club of GB you can buy a paper copy of the microfiche manual - it's a members only publication. The window working funny sounds to me if the window is binding somewhere. Either in its runners, or the motor/gearbox itself needs lubricating. The resistance is causing the 'anti-trip' system to cut out. This is the mechanism that prevents hands getting trapped in the window. You can disable the anti trip by removing the right fuse (I have sold my manual so I can't look up which one for you). Once the anti-trip is disabled try the window again. CAUTION it will keep trying, so if there really is a problem beware of overheating the motor!!! The Z1 never had a factory alarm - only the light in the key, so any remote functions are non standard. Have a good Christmas!!
