I would certainly be interested. : : Nic/Chris : Don't know about you chaps, but I'd like to learn properly. : One of the German user groups runs workshops to teach door maintenance. : Perhaps we could encourage a UK board member to do the same? - For a fee plus beer, of course. : What do you think? Who'd be prepared to do this? Where should it/could it be held? : Andrew : : : : : Chris, two things ,the workshop manual is highly recommended/essential, the graphics/photo quality is not good as it is a photocopy of a microfiche, but there is a lot about the doors and a flow chart on fault diagnosis. you really need to get this as it covers everything. However, the graphics are much better on the cd rom, a picture is worth a thousand words, but strangely it hasn't the fault diagnosis on it so I'd get both. Incidentally the cd rom in europe is 65 euros as against £85 in britan!! : : Regarding the door movement. Does it only go up by using the inside door handle or does it not go up ever.? Getting the door to work is probably a matter of adjusting one of the push/pull rods that activate the microswitch for the door motor.I'm also on the "door learning curve" but you might as well find out yourself than pay £500 to someone else and learn nothing! Regards Nic. : : : : Does anyone know where I might be able to get a wiring diagram or workshop manual for the Z1. I know I'm being a bit optimistic but I had to ask. : : : : : : Hello Gary, : : : First of all page down this message board & you will find quite a lot about doors !! : : : Secondly, if you are a member of the BMW Car Club (Z Register) you can buy a copy of the : : : Worshop Manual for @ £20. Or you can order the manual on CD Rom from your BMW dealer for @£80. : : : Again you can find the part no. for this by pageing down to earlier messages. : : : ChrisM. : : :
