Could you explain what CD27 & CD31 refer to?... (Archived 2002-11)

: Zmurf has been having problems with with hesitation/stammering on acceleration and went in to the dealer for the fourth time last week. The first time they replaced the anti-knock sensor, then something under the manifold, then the temperature sensor.

: After the third unsuccessful visit I mentioned there was an update on CD27 of the engine management software that dealt with a similar problem, but was assured they were on CD31.

: Well, they might have been, but Zmurf wasn't and having had the software downloaded it's a different car--no hesitation or stammering, and it now pulls *very* strongly from lowish revs in third/fourth.

: It no longer goes "Fu Fu Fu Fu Hooking fast", just Fu**ing fast. So if you have an 01 or 02 M roadster/coupé I would suggest you check with the dealer whether the update has been done.

I have a similar problem with my 5 month old M Roadster. Can the dealer just download a new program into the DME? Thanks for any extra info...
