Z8 Message Board: Frequently Asked Questions |
| . |
Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about message board.
How do I reply or add to postings on the message board? Click on the posting to which you wish to reply and complete the boxes at the bottom of the original message as follows:
Can I practise sending messages somewhere private? Yes, there's a link to a test board at the top of the main page, or you can click here. Your post most likely did not show up because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled the old version out of cache. Reload/refresh the page and it should then appear. Why are there colons in the message when I post a follow up message? A single colon in front of the lines indicate they are from the message being replied to. If it was in turn a reply to a previous message, it may be appended with two lines of colons, etc. How do I start a new message thread? There's a posting form at the bottom of the main page. You may have to scroll down to see it. Otherwise, follow the instructions in 'How do I reply or add to postings?' Can I upload files to the message board? No, but you can link your posting to files that are available elsewhere on the Internet using the link boxes (explained below). What are the three 'link' boxes in the message dialogue window?
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts? You can use < > HTML tags in the body of the message.
Where can I get the scripts for this program? The message board is based on Perl scripts originally created by Matt Wright. The originals are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy! . |
