Fitted a new fuel filter and the small hockey stick exit fuel hose (16122294224). The £27 BMW 10x5 hose is not E10 compatible and has a very tight 180 degree radius. I did bend some regular rubber fuel hose but not as tight without the bend creasing. It's a simple 5 minute job to fit the new filter ...

The minimum / maximum tyre width for 7.5 rims is 215 to 235. The Alpina RLE had 17 inch wheels with 235/40/17 tyres ... however, they may have been 8 inch wide, not sure The larger and wider 17 inch diameter wheels / tyres will need a lower side wall profile compared to the standard 16 inch 225/45/1...

The oil spec no longer shows up on BMW's service info but it seems Redline MTL is the way to go

Couple of things to consider when replacing a fan belt Make sure you have the correct belt. As pointed out there are two and one is slightly smaller and is not going to fit if you get them the wrong way round. You need the larger 9.5 x 965 belt not the smaller 9.5 x 900 power steering drive belt. Th...

The fixing tabs break very easily if the securing stud is over tightend. Finger tight with threadlock is fine. The easiest way to check if it is the wiper blades is to remove them from the spindles, turn on the wipers and hold the splined spindle. The Yokohama tyres you mentioned are primarily track day focused, especially the A052 which replaced the A048 which were Lotus Exige S OEM fit. How are BMW getting on with approving the re-manufacture of the Z1 sized Pirelli P700-Z ??

The Yokohama 225/45/16 AD08R is no longer available having been replaced by an updated AD08RS (with go faster stripes) recommended for primarily trackday use.

A set of the correct sized "threaded plugs" have been ordered from BMW Germany @ £7.50. The respective Torx screws are no longer available from BMW but generic stainless studs and washers are widely available.

I can't track down a part number for the coarse threaded brass chassis inserts for the rear undertray torx fixings (item 12 in the link). The usual problem; the insets unscrew and wear rather than the torx stud. Do I need to track down similar size generic M6 rivnuts ? If so recommendations welcome ...
