ahh ok so you must have been the previous owner for the guy I bought it off, its strange because the car came up for sale before I bought my S50, unfortunately he beat me to it, two years later it comes up and I only find out its the same car once i'd put a deposit down!! - fate intervening? I have...

I had the M for around 2 years - purchased it when it had around 20,000 miles and sold 15,000 odd miles later. Bought it around 2006. It really was a great car I miss is so badly; owned a few cars over the years but this one was just a perfect balance of rawness and day to day drivability. I sold th...

butt strut for sale
As I have sold my s54, I have a butt strut for sale (imported from strong strut). I'm selling for £100 its in excellent condition with all bolts and spacers.
Can't recommend these highly enough (and the front strongstrut) makes a real difference to the way the car drives.

HK Wiring adaptors
Hi, Please can someone help me out: I need to buy a wiring adaptor (ISO) for a new head unit (Alpine). I have a stock philips BMW Business head unit with Harmon Kardon upgrade at the moment, can someone tell me if any of these adaptors available on ebay suit the HK upgrade http://search.ebay.co.uk/s...

Just following on from my earlier post regarding the butt strut and unconfortable ride quality. Well as it turns out my torque wrench (which was cheap but new from screw fix) was massively out and left the bolts not tightened enough. I just tightened them up slightly and the ride is much a whole lot...

I don't think they charge such a big premium. My steel version cost around £250 and I think they are the only conpany that cater for the s54 engine. For the difference the strong-strut makes I found it extremely reasonable. Looking at another way, the price of the strut is equivelent to 2 1/2 hours ...

I have totally standard suspension and running the recommended tyre pressures, as stated on the side of the door (I think its 32 psi). I emailed Paul and he said that the bar won't affect suspension, it will only strengthen (hold in place) the sub frame. Also I think I installed it properly and tigh...

Hi, I ordered and fitted the strong-strut to my car and all I can say is WOW! what a difference it made.  First thing I noticed was all the handling unpredictability had gone, the car was now steering like a BMW should. Next the scuttle shake decreased by at least 70% and driving around i...

My alarm is still giving me hassle :bawl: got a local independent to look at it and he thought it the bonnet wasn't aligned, after he aligned it it was ok for a couple of days then the same problem. Anyway whilst I was tesiting, it seems that the new switch I bought is not working consistently, may ...

Interesting... my car is a 02 and reg plate starts off with the letters RX as well, also same colour I wonder if the original buyer may have bought 2 of these cars for a company or something. Mine has a red interior and red rag top. I paid just under 18 for mine and had 23K miles, same spec but no h...

I like your story Khushy. I sold my newer (nowhere near a supercar like a porsche or anything) to get this car, but when you look around at cars on the road these days its getting a bit formularic. The z3M is so unique in its styling and for me delivers a sense of freedom in its design, its weird lo...

Took me a while to find my s54, and I wasn't too fussed about colour as all the s54 colours look great. Mine is a 2002 in silver and would have thought it was one of the last ones to be produced, but even then its a 4/5 year old car so finding one in great condition with low/average miles is hard. T...

I replaced the bonnet switch with a new part (around £10), the new part is slightly longer too. But this still hasn't cured the problem. To make sure it was the bonnet sensor I disconnected the switch and alarmed, but it went off again after a few hours :head: this bl**dy thing is driving me nuts! I...

Engine light
Driving up to see the Open on Firday and all of a sudden the engine light comes on! so I panick and pull over, phoned up a BMW dealer and they advised that if the car seems to be running ok that I drive it to them immediately. So the closest dealer at the time was Rydale in Shrewsbury. Got there and...

Thanks for your reply TN. I got the dealer to do an inspection 1 on my car at a BMW garage before I bought it so I guess it will be a while before I get to the dealer - is it something that can be fixed by myself? if not does anyone know how much it would a cost to fix something like this at a deale...

Hello to everyone! I've just bought a 2002 M Roadster waaahaay :P my first sports car and first ever rag top. What an excellent machine it is! Yesterday morning and this morning both around 6am I encountered my first problem  the alarm randomly went off! I reset it and all was ok. I got the car...
