I just got a wheel from the same chap, and he'll do an exchange (for a deposit).

If you're particularly keen to hang onto your own wheel, I think he'll probably lend you one for the same deposit while yours is refurbed.

The only thing to watch out for with the Gunsons is that they come with a variety of attachments for the brake fluid reservoir, one of which appears to fit and one of which actually fits. It's worth making sure that you're using the latter...

No - you want the non-eccentric (concentric?) ones: PFF5-301.

Only the early E36 M3s used eccentric bushes to compensate for the additional caster on M cars. The later E36 M3s and the Z3M used a control arm with a different geometry and an uprated concentric bush.

BMW use various "lifetime" oils, designated as MTF-LT-1, MTF-LT-2, etc.

As far as I can tell, you can't buy these directly in the UK but may be able to persuade to dealer to sell you a couple of litres.

An industrial meter has to meet a 1.5 % tolerance, which makes one wonder why speedometers don't. Speedometers are required (by EU rules) not to under-read. 10% plus 2.4 mph sounds a lot like the 10% plus 4kmh maxium allowed by the relevant rules, so I suspect that BMW are merely restating the cons...

Check whether the discs and pads need doing, and ask specifically for the disc thickness and the minimum. You may find that the pads are completely worn but the discs are only half way between their initial and minimum thickness, in which case, just get the pads done.

£14 came from www.brakeparts.co.uk. They are a really good bunch of people that I have used on a number of occaisions. Ah yes - I hadn't spotted the "associated parts" link. When a caliper is rebuilt, all they keep is the casting, everything else is replaced, so its practically new anyway...

If the pistion has rusted then it is likely your caliper need a complete overhaul anyway. I would either get a service kit for £12 and a new piston for £14 or go for a whole new caliper for around £52.
