I just got a wheel from the same chap, and he'll do an exchange (for a deposit).
If you're particularly keen to hang onto your own wheel, I think he'll probably lend you one for the same deposit while yours is refurbed.

That sounds like the control arm bushings. Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Pw3V8pMeI . £135 sounds very high if that is what they're quoting for - should be no more than £60 for the pair, although you can get OEM parts for around half that online. EDIT - I think you meant the £135 in...

Looking at the photos, I think it may not have been the top mounts. When mine went, it was pretty obvious as the mount was in two parts. Photos here:

Still, no harm in doing them - they would have gone sooner or later.

I had a ball joint go recently so replaced the arm and both bushes. On the M, BMW don't sell the ball joints separately. The harness linked to is the correct one. The HK system has a separate amp, and so you should be using the line-level outputs (which is what those 4 RCA plugs are for). An industrial meter has to meet a 1.5 % tolerance, which makes one wonder why speedometers don't. Speedometers are required (by EU rules) not to under-read. 10% plus 2.4 mph sounds a lot like the 10% plus 4kmh maxium allowed by the relevant rules, so I suspect that BMW are merely restating the cons...

If the pistion has rusted then it is likely your caliper need a complete overhaul anyway.
