As Kornkarr says; the metal is thin. It's just a matter of time before the welds go again on the bigger engines. That's if your driving the car as its designed to be driven. My diff bracket was replaced by BMW early on, which isn't a problem now. But I had to have welding done on the boot last year ...

Good price for that. Extremely common problem unfortunately; seems that there is no real permanent fix for the boot problem, as they always seem to go after a few years.

Reduced price now guys: £7000 ONO. Do you think I am asking too much for this? Appears that the sellers market isn't looking too strong at the minute for these. Maybe something to do with the ridiculous fuel prices in the UK.

Falkens are the best because they are a harder compound of tyre, which in turn means it will last longer!

However, if your looking for performance: I recommend Toyo T1R's. Though they will only last 6 months before they are bald (Depending on how you drive). :)

You can pick up an 'M' for a reasonable price these days. You certainly wont be disappointed with the performance. I used to have a 1.9 and i thought that was nippy. Then took an 'M' for a run, and it fell in love. I think it was moment my head snapped into the head rest, from the pull off. :drive

Funny old thing, I did my passenger side this weekend; and mine was exactly the same. Mine had been glue gunned on. Haha. I can't justify buying a new one in the current economic climate.

Oh and I 'Highly recommend' using, a Gunson Eezibleed kit from Halfrauds to bleed the brakes. Cost around £19. Makes the bleeding job easy (Again - I'd never done before). Only took around 10-15 mins.

Yea, I used plenty of Penetrating fluid on the hoses before I started. The front ones came off easily. And I drained the system completely after the fronts come off. But the rear hoses and lines were picked up as an advisory on the last MOT.

I think convertibles are naturally creaky by nature. In regards to the 'Spot Weld' issue, try pulling out the boot lining and have a look at the condition of your boot. If a Spot weld has popped, you will definitely see it! (Which I found in mine, 18 months ago) It also, might be worth having a look...

Its definately the inverter and not one of the Rings. The chances of both rings going U/S at the same time are very slim. Ordered an inverter off Ebay for £7. Will let you know how it goes.
