Re: Putting a Z3 into storage?
I use Dinitrol for the cars underside its much better than waxoyl which tends to dry out over time, 5 cans will comfortably cover the floorpan and arches etc, not the most pleasant of jobs lying on your back but dooable in a few hours. http://www.frost.co.uk/dinitrol-metallic-underbody-wax-500ml.htm...

Re: Putting a Z3 into storage?
Mine tends to be stored 6 months of the year, the primary concern is ensuring where its stored is as dry as possible especially the floor as damp rises and making sure no rodents can get in, mice etc will happilly build nests in the engine bay/interior and chew through wiring . Hasn't the Zed got a space saver? if you were running with the tyre partially deflated it could have caused additional damage to the. I keep my space saver in the boot rather than slung under the car as its easier to ensure its inflated and to keep it away from the elements. I would never trust the ...

A common fix is to replace with one from a X5 as they are slightly longer, or stick a pad above the switch on the bonnet, I did the latter Thanks Geoff, looking on RealOEM the switch for the Z3 has been replaced twice by latter versions, I'm guessing either they have become unavailable or have been...

Apparently Sytner paid 8.5K for it so looking to double their money and if you look at the pics the car is rusting away on the sills and arches. A little scandalous if you ask me but you pays your money and takes your choice. As Mine has 27K and no rust it must be worth double that

I'm really surprised BMW would be bothered with such an old car to be honest as anything over 5/6 years would be disposed off through Auction.

Does your alarm siren work, as it sounds more like the alarm is trying to go off. The only common water-related alarm issue I know of is the tilt switch being drowned in the left-hand boot well.
