Pingu
thanks a lot for taking the time to have a look at the problem. In the end I have put it back as it was and will keep a lookout for the correct switch.
Am now doubting whether it is an oem switch that I have as the pin numbering is all to pot from the various wiring diagrams.

Leckie advice needed heated rear window switch

The guy who fitted the wiring to the hard top has taken a live feed from the cigarette lighter instead of using the built in loom. (this feed is always live so if the h/w switch is left on the battery drains.) On investigation today I think I found out why. The loom connector is post face lift and t...

Mine went on last week after a couple of dry days to ensure hood was dry for storage. Main reason for having it is the heated rear screen, makes driving in winter much easier especially early mornings.

Drivers Door Mirror

Hi
I went to my car this morning and noticed the drivers door mirror is loose and not flush with the mount. Can I do anything to repair this or am I looking at a new mirror? I have searched the knowledge base best I can but cannot find a solution.

Robert my switch does not illuminate and does stay on with the ignition off, hence the flat batteries. Also the reason I think it has been wired in wrong, will have to have the console out and check it all I think.

I agree with Antonius, I had the same problem and it was the filters at the bottom of the water tank that were blocked. I cleared them and within a couple of weeks had a recurring problem so this time I have used detergent to really clean the inside of the water tank. Everything working fine atm.

I am going to service it myself, am fairly used to mechanics and had my share of classics and as you say well kept records are just as good combined with age and condition of the car.

Will wander over to fleabay and source a resetting tool.
