How would you go about removing the drivers seat if the seat is pushed all the way to the rear and there is no power to the motor to move it forwards? I can obviously remove the two front bolts but cant get at the two rears.. Is there a way to manually move the seat?
Thanks.

I think its Dynamic Stability Control. Basically like traction control but better. The 3.0 is a lot better overall than the 2.8. More power (231 as opposed to 193 bhp) and better fuel economy (yes i know it sounds crazy but its true). You should only go for a 2.8 if you have a restricted budget tha...

Decided the time has come to move our E60 530d SE Auto on for something more 'interesting' and agreed a deal today. Offered 5k for the E60, which wasn't great, but can't be bothered trying and wasting massive amounts of time to find a better deal. It's a steal to be honest isn't it! Anyway, when I ...

Ive test driven a Corsa VXR and Megane F1 recently, and have to say they do drive better than the Z3. The quality of the interior is much better in both of them compared to the zed, i dont think the z3 was bmw's best effort when it comes to quality. Saying that, it is 100x better than the MGTF that ...

On a standard 2.8, you will see gains from 20-30bhp without a remap.johnz3 wrote:Can someone let me know what this does in terms of a performance increase

Small puddle of water on drivers side mat
Hi all,
I have a small puddle of water that gathers on the drivers side rubber mat, when it has rained heavily.
It is not wet under the mat, and the seat is not wet at all. Its directly beneath the steering wheel right in the middle of the drivers footwell. Any ideas where this could be coming from?

Re: Oil
There was an interesting bit in the BMWCC magazine this month, by an American garage owner, who had repeatedly found that use of Mobil 1 was guaranteed to make the tappets noisey, a change to (in his case) Castrol curing the problem. It also showed the effect of extended oil changes - in tihs case ...

Re: Rattle
IF you want sensible repies, it would be wise to tell us what engine you have, mileage etc. I assume yo have a double-VANOS M52TU engine - in this case, and if the noise is a rattle at idle and low speeds, a BMW Service Instruction lists either a hydraulic tappet or oil pump problem, and possibly a...

Hi all, hope you are well. I have a "noise" which can only be described as a metallic rattle noise which is coming from the engine. The noise gets worse when the car gets hotter, I have the car booked in with a BMW specialist at the moment, and he thinks the noise was coming from beneath t...

Oil grades for Z3 straight six
As per the title, what oil grade do you suggest to use for the 2.8/3.0 Z3's? I have had a quick dig and see that 5w30 seems to the recommended oil. Do you use fully synthetic or do you think Castrol GTX Magnatec 5w/30 will be more than good enough?
Thanks.
